Half past eight on a Friday night, I'm stuck in Hull and I'm here at the new Adelphi club, a place I haven't been to in over eight months. Not due to my own fault I just haven't had the urge to check out many bands who play there, but tonight is different. I've been asked by thisisUll.com to come down and review three bands who played tonight. First, kicking off the show is Beverley metal act For My Enemy. This is the first time I've been able to see For My Enemy since the departure last year of original bassist Alex Miller, and Tom Carter, who filled his shoes, has almost the same amount of energy and stage presence.

Within seconds of stepping up and getting the night off with a bang the first of many pits begin to form. Throughout their set of just over twenty five minutes the crowd is left in anticipation and I get the feeling that they wanted another twenty-five minutes more. For me this was a great opening act by a band that should be headlining shows.

After a short break, punk outfit Fight The Following took the stage. This band can either be recognized easily by their hair, dress sense or the punk attitude that every member of the band carries with them.

Straight into their first number, front man Pidge has everyone on their feet. For me, this was more explosive than the battle of the bands final last year at the Ringside where Fight The Following came runners up to Fine 69. The more I listen to Fight The Following, the more they remind me of a very young version of Rancid - which is nothing short of perfection.

By this time we are already well late on into the day and its time for Reign of Chaos to take to the stage. I could sit here for hours on end and write pages and pages about Reign of Chaos but everyone who was there and witnessed them on stage will know that their performance was filled with energy from start to finish. Starting the set with their new song Break The Bonds That Tie Us, which in my eyes is the first song to show their full potential as a band, they showed me just how far this band has come in less than a year of being on the Hull Circuit.

My overall impression was, with a surprisingly good turnout, I was happy to be there and get a chance to write about three bands that I would more than happily work with any day of the week.
