The ZOO Café, Coffe Shop and Vegetarian Cafe.
The Zoo Café, situated along Newlands Ave is the ideal place to enjoy a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, in a wonderful setting with outside seating available.

This Zoo Café welcomes your visit from OAPs to students, mothers with children, all will feel comfortable and at ease here.

The Zoo is a mainly vegetarian café, you should try the soups either leek or chick pea etc. - really tasty. Meals including peppers, mushrooms and courgettes cooked to perfection as only they know how!

Maybe a quick call in for scones with jam, a pot of tea or coffee, ice cream and fruit.

As for the staff there, they make it special - always attentive to your needs and good looking gals, too!

Just go and see Pauline and Heather at the Zoo, that's at 80b Newland Avenue, behind Skeltons the baker.

Food and Drink Reviews
As an amateur connoisseur of food I have died and gone to heaven by becoming the food and drink critic for www.thisisUll.com I want to give an honest view of eateries in Hull and let you know the worst and the best.

So I devised a cunning plan. Top places to nosh get a big fork up from me (ooooer) and those which are sadly lacking in quality and service get a big fork down.

Coffee Shop Reviews - Newland Avenue
In my student days going for a cup of coffee meant slouching along to The Buttery ( now Staff House ) at the University on Cottingham Road. The more squashed at a table, the more popular you were. The floor was sticky, the noise unbearable, the atmosphere fugged with smoke and the toilets unmentionable. The coffee, indistinguishable from tea, hot chocolate or indeed vegetable soup, was served in a polystyrene cup and was grey.
