Sports, Boxing
Fight Club contd
By Stephen Allen
Prev Page

Whenever I'm hit by a punch, I expect the worst. Expect the worst, and you won't feel the worst - it won't be much of a shock. What I'm saying is if you brace yourself for the big punches, it won't be much of a shock.

In the third I managed a kind of combo. I left hooked him on his side, then right to face, and then left to the side of his head. He stumbled. Even though I was stretching to hit head, I knew that was the most effective place to attack. He didn't fall, but I know the point went to me.
Before I knew it the fight was drawing to a close. He was wasting time moving around the ring, and I was driving in to fight him. Why come here for a fight if he was going to run around?
The fight ended. I won on technical K/O. He was dazed, and the referees gave a unanimous decision.

My next fight is a good couple of months away. I'm not training as much as I used do, but I will do nearer the time.
