2004 Beverley Annual 10k Race and Fun Run By Mo
|
|
On a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning May 16th, I headed off to the Beverley Annual 10k run to capture
some photographs and do my best to find a racer who may write about the experience to accompany them.
Clearly as it's me writing this I was unsuccessful, maybe next year, so you'll have to put up
with my scribbling of the day.

Sports Events - KC Skate Park July 2003
|
|
My guess was right, and the glorious evening sunshine brought the skatepark kids out in force. Word had obviously got around about the site as I felt like the Pied Piper - everywhere I turned I was met with tricks, questions and overwhelming enthusiasm.

by Mo with 6 Video AVI's of The Game
The morning arrived with sunshine and the promise of a great day ahead although we left to meet the lads in Pearson Park wrapped up and ready for the worst.
Orion FC are top of the League and unbeaten this season, a formidable opponent for the HASSG Lions but the squad's mood was jovial as we hopped in our motors and car-trained our way to the home ground.

By Matt with Video AVI's of The Game
Hull Stingrays lost to the Newcastle Vipers despite out-shooting their opposition 36 shots to 25.
Hull came out all guns blazing and should have come out of the first period with at least a one goal advantage.
Early in the second period, Simon Leech served a two minute penalty for high sticks.
Dru Burgess almost scored his first goal..

|
|
by Mo with 5 Video AVI's of The Game
This week's match produced a bounty of goals for both sides along with a fair share of controversy and terrific spirited action.
I met up with the Hassag Lions lads as usual in Pearson Park at 10 am, to be given the news that a Hull Daily Mail journalist and photographer were due to come along and write a piece on them.

by Mo with Video AVI's of The Game
Having met up with the lads at 10 o'clock this morning and shown them a printout of their team photos, it was smiles all round with the recognition that some of them had seen their first web report.
The first thing they told me was they come from northern Iraq and are in fact all Kurds..

Sports - Hull Stingrays vs. Edinburgh Capitals - 29 Nov 2003
|
|
By Matt with 1 Video AVI's of The Game
A poor performance from the Hull Stingrays saw them lose their third game in a row and sees them rooted to the foot of the table with only one draw this season.
Edinburgh were the better of two poor teams, with both lacking passion and desire in a game with few chances and not much energy.

It's been a few years since I used to drag myself out of bed on a Sunday morning, along with my flatmates to take part in the Sunday league, despite the customary 6 pints followed by a vindaloo and late night movies that typically finish up the Saturday night before.

Sports - Ice Hockey by Matt

|
Since as far back as I can remember there has been something in my life. It is impossible to explain but it has always stood by me. Like some people cannot live without drugs, I can not live without ice hockey. For me it started back in 1991. In the previous Season the Seahawks managed to win the division one championship and how I wish I had seen that!
