Fast Electric Radio Control Model Boats
By Stuart Batley
For some years now I've been going through the motions, like most model enthusiasts do, buying in turn boats, planes, cars, heli's (both IC and electric) but most settle down to one, mine's 'fast electric boats'.
I first started by buying an ARTR kit from my local 'Hobby Stores' and then off to the lake and join the club there.
On arrival I was taken aback by the speed of some of the hydro type boats, whizzing by. I had to have one. They all had a theme.
Jeff (the club chairman) had a 'Coke ' one but I had to do something completely different. Influenced by my daughter, mine was to be a 'Scooby Doo', complete with Shaggy and Scooby driving!
My hydro was a Hydro and Marine shovel and was fitted with a 700 neo motor, fullers rudder set and sixteen cells, did it go ! Using GPS I got it up to 31mph, it was flying. I was hooked!
Then I decided that having GRP fibre glassing skills I would design and build my own fast electric hull, so I did.
50 hours later a plug was built, fibre glassing started and before I new it out popped a hull - a deep V mono two with sharp edges and long rails… perfect.
I soon fitted it out with a mega brushless motor and speed controller, (it had to be done) then on the first change off to the lake for testing.
With 12 cells fitted I nervously placed it in the water and hit the throttle.
Off it went like a rocket, round the boys and flying up the straights and very stable with it. I was amazed, I'd done it!.

A good friend of mine in the racing fraternity Roy this years winner of 'best newcomer' had to have one to race in the coming years mono 2 restricted class, so I made him a special one using Kevlar.
It's 40% lighter and less flex than cloth but 20 times more costly, so watch out you racing guys - Roy's on his way with a winning boat!
Every one who has seen it wants one, I have four colours blue, red, white and yellow.
The name of the hull is 'Magic' it weighs just 300grams and the dimensions are 550 x 175mm.
I am in the process of developing a web site to show all but if you cannot wait and want one send us an email, quoting reference M1, they are priced at 50 pounds plus P+P, to

2004 Beverley Annual 10k Race and Fun Run By Mo
On a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning May 16th, I headed off to the Beverley Annual 10k run to capture
some photographs and do my best to find a racer who may write about the experience to accompany them.
Clearly as it's me writing this I was unsuccessful, maybe next year, so you'll have to put up
with my scribbling of the day.

Sports - Great Britain v Australia - 15/11/03 KC Stadium
By Nick Quantrill
Wow, this was sport! I'm not normally a huge fan of rugby league. My interest in playing the game ended when I lost a front tooth in a school 'friendly'. Nowadays, I tend to favour games in which you can predict the bounce of the ball. This game was special though; huge even, and what's more, it was being played in Hull by a Great Britain team

Sports - Take Me to the River - Carp Anglers by Mo
I am an amateur angler, mostly river fishing as a youth at a time when televisions were black and white. I was 14 maybe, I had my own rods (3) and tackle, a selection of floats, some ledger weights, hooks and line, all kept in our shed alongside my recent purchase of maggots. I always took great pleasure in seeing my four sisters scream and run at the sight of these little yellow ..

By Matt with Video AVI's of The Game
Hull Stingrays followed up their 2-2 draw with Bracknell the previous night with a 5-1 defeat against Edinburgh Capitals.
If lady luck had been on Hulls side the result could have been very different.
They had a bag full of chances but Kundra did extremely well to keep Hull down to only one goal.
Edinbrough opened the scoring after almost..

Sports Football - The Scarborough Warning By Patrick Henry
Scarborough F.C. are at home to mighty Chelsea in the 4th round of the FA. Cup on Saturday, January 24th.
Before anybody laughs at the idea of these minnows reaching victory, it should be remembered that we knocked out Chelsea from the League Cup on our ground in 1989.
Then Chelsea had stood top of the whole League, before the Premiership existed, and Scarborough played in Division Four a brief period.
