The Hamsterley Forest Rally 2005 - 13th November contd
By Matt Rudd
|
Prev Page
|
|
The BMW's were surprisingly sideways through this section - especially car 11.
Charlie Taylor's car looked and sounded amazing through here - the car complete with new
paintwork was on a mini test session ready for the Roger Albert Clark Rally the
weekend after.
Car 52 (Alexander Lund) was one of many to get some slight air on the bump mid-point during the corner.
|
Punctures seemed to be a large problem.
At least four cars did have at least one puncture by the time they got to our point in the stage.
Drivers that were suffering included Stuart Wilson and Alan Richardson - both were driving Nova's.
For the final run of the stage, due to the delays on the previous stages, we went to the point
closest to the car which was the flying finish.
Before the stage started, Ciro Carannante finally turned up - he had gone down the stage for
the last few miles in reverse.
|
|
|
Unfortunately, due to the time and the fact we had a good mile and a half walk
after the stage through the forest, we only stayed for about the first 15/20 cars.
With it being the final corner of the stage, really nothing happened as most cars
were slowing down when they came to us.
This was the first time I had experienced proper night stages and truthfully it
is one of the most atmospheric sights in rallying in my opinion.
|
So the results:
Roger Duckworth and Mark Broomfield won the event in their Subaru Impreza WRC
2nd) Stephen Petch and Michael Wilkinson - Hyundai Accent WRC
3rd) Tim Pearcey and Colin Stockil - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6
4th) Kevin Procter and Mike Gilby - Ford Puma 4x4
5th) Tristan Pye and Andrew Roughead - Subaru Impreza

Sports, Football - In Reply To Football Sugar Daddies - Helping or Killing (By Steve Everett) By Gareth Marshall
|
|
First of all, I have to concede that I actually agree with Steve about the crux of his article.
There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a team who seemingly represent everything
that is bad about the modern game and who have pretty much had riches and success
handed to them on a plate
