The 2005 Alternative Sign Centre Robin Hood Forest Stages Rally - 12th and 13th March 05 contd.
By Matt Rudd

prev page,
|
|
We were treated with some great sideways action from many of the Subaru's.
Roger Preistnall got a bit carried away and overshoot a great deal but coming out
of the corner he didn't care - in fact he was laughing.
The Peugeot 205's, as normal were extremely entertaining with some rather strange
racing lines coming from them.
|
|
Another strange thing was the beautiful orange Lotus Elise that was competing.
|
Run 2 of the stage we had changed position to a 90 right with some banking on the outside.
This run was for the modern cars only.
Bob Morgan had a neat and tidy line in the corner; Kevin Procter however mounted the banking.
It was surprising how many cars actually hit this banking.
One of the Mk2 Escorts was forced to reverse after going into the bank losing lots of time.
|
|
|
The bank after that didn't take many hits for a while - then the 205's came.
The majority of these drivers are doing the 205 championship this year.
It seemed that most of the Pugs were mounting the banking but it was like normal -
some good entertainment from the lads.
|
Car 33 on the corner came in too fast and stopped on the corner after the car cut out
but he soon got it going again.
This was a brilliant day out and I did see many merry people.

What pains me is the lack of coverage of the sport I and many others enjoy in this region.

In Paul Moor (yes,
