The Jack Frost Rally 2006 - 15th January 06 contd
By Matt Rudd
|
Prev Page
|
This time we saw all the cars - and the first one was a brilliantly sideways; Tony Bardy.
A bit later car 19, Chris Wise nearly clipped some of the tyres on the inside of the corner.
Then on the exit of the corner, one of the Escort Mk2's hit a large rock on the outside of
the corner forcing the rock into the air.
Kevin Jeffray had an extremely wide line through the turn but he managed to keep
the car under control the same happened to the Ford Puma of James Robertson.
|
|
|
For stage 6, I went to the chicane which was located at the top of the car park
and then continues to the flying finish.
All of first cars were great through here; Barry Renwick was quite sideways on the exit.
After the first 40 - 45 cars we moved again.
We ended up crossing the stage onto some more banking.
This was so we could see the merge with the circuit.
I personally was concentrating on the cars which still had a lap to go - the first
of which for us was Garry Johnson's immaculate Opel Corsa.
|
|
For the last 10 or so cars we went to the next corner.
Kevin Tinsley was quickly being hunted by car 77, Andrew Irving and when they reached
the corner, only a metre separated the 2 cars.
|
For stage 7 I stayed at the same corner and as darkness was falling it felt
so much more atmospheric with cars headlights on and the amazing sound of the 6R4's.
When flames where coming out of the exhausts they looked amazing.
For the about the first 30 cars we stayed at this location.
Then, due to travelling time I started heading back to the car but for a few cars
I ended up going back to the final chicane then I started going back down the final straight.
|
|
|
When leaving everyone felt that with winning just about every stage of the event,
John Stone in his 6R4 would have won the event, but John was excluded from the
rally after the event and therefore first place went to Tony Bardy and Neil Coleman
which made it their 3rd win on the event.
|
|
2nd) Chris Wise and Tracy Taylor-West - MG Metro 6R4
3rd) Phil Gallagher and Mick Gallagher - MG Metro 6R4
4th) Tim Finch and Paul Hughes - Ford Escort Cosworth
5th) Chris Myres and Matthew Whattam - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6

The Beverley 2k Fun Run By Eleanor Smith Age 7 and Eleanor's Mum
|
|
I thought the Fun Run was very tiring but I tried to carry on.
My Mum and my brother's friend Ross were doing it too.
I wish I could do the big run when I'm older.
When I was doing the Fun Run I had a stitch in my tummy but I carried on.
My medal was excellent. I showed it too my class in 2FB Anlaby School.
They wanted to do the Fun Run as well.
My friend Eden was very very happy to see I had a medal and

Beware of the Cat - Beverley 10k - Sunday 15th May 05 By Mike Pullon
|
|
The 2003 Beverley 10 k was , at 44 , my first attempt at any sort of competitive running for about 30 years.
As part of a weight loss, and fitness gain, plan over the previous year I had been running about
2 miles a day and felt that this event would be a good test for me.
My goal was to finish and if possible not last.
In the event I found that the motivation

The Beverley 10k Run - Sunday 15th May 05 By Jonathan Rollison
|
|
The Beverley 10k - what a fantastic morning - well done Beverley Athletics Club!
This was my first ever running event since school - 26 years ago.
The main highlight was to see my 11 year old in the fun run come storming back into the
main arena at full tilt looking determined to get a few places up the field in the 2k race.
He admitted later that he started the home sprint too early, but

Why do I love speedway? My Dad used to go before I was born. As I started getting older I went more often. But I remember I was four when I first started to go.
I can't remember the first time I went to Speedway. I can however, remember two of
the riders, Jan Stapman and Joe Screen.
I can't remember

Sports, Football - In Reply To Football Sugar Daddies - Helping or Killing (By Steve Everett) By Gareth Marshall
|
|
First of all, I have to concede that I actually agree with Steve about the crux of his article.
There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a team who seemingly represent everything
that is bad about the modern game and who have pretty much had riches and success
handed to them on a plate
