Motor Racing - How Pathetic!
By Matt Rudd

I have always been a fan of motor sport, whether it was Rallying , Moto GP or Formula One. However on Sunday it was the US Formula One Grand Prix. To be honest this was the most pathetic race I have ever seen, instead of about 20 cars on the starting grid only 6 came onto the track these were the 2 Minardi's , Jordan's and Ferrari's.
This really wouldn't have happened however, if someone just made a simple decision to add a chicane on to the circuit just before the final banked turn. This was due to tyre manufacturer Michelin having a bad set of tyres. On the last corner, all of the g-forces go to one tyre however the tyre structure wasn't strong enough resulting in Ralf Schumacher hitting the wall the previous day. After this, on safety grounds Michelin said it wasn't safe for their tyre to race.

But, the race could have happened if a chicane was built, therefore reducing speed coming into turn 13. However, the wonderful people at the FIA said no.
So therefore one of the most boring races in history happened. The only action we saw was the 2 Ferrari's coming relatively close to each other resulting in one coming on the grass.
Motor sport in general is rather dangerous but I believe strongly that because of the decision of the FIA and Michelin not letting most of the racing teams go out on track it made racing more dangerous and within a few laps the so-called race should have been stopped as marshals (who are volunteers) had to keep running onto the track to retrieve bottles etc that were been thrown at drivers.

Also, another thing that really annoyed me is that the event promoters were refusing to give people refunds.
Some were interviewed on ITV had saved up all their wages for over 2 months to come to see this event and really there were only two good cars on the grid; the Ferrari's.
Unfortunately as well for the other drivers and teams with them not competing they were not allowed to gain any points which could be a large pointer at the end of season rankings.
F1 has lost lots of loyal fans in my opinion and really all because of them refusing to add a chicane to the circuit which in all honestly is pathetic. This is one of the most famous motor sports in the whole world as well as the sport in which most money is spent and also according to many of the team bosses, there was the time to add this chicane.

Well I sure hope F1 gets better after this large blow in the history of the FIA Formula One Championship.

Sports, Football - What a night. Liverpool European Champions By Gregory Anderson
What a night. Everything I've believed about football - Steven Everett spoke of it - has been kicked into row Z. Much will be written and spoken about the night Liverpool became football kings of Europe, and rightly so. Milan's first goal was, we must admit, a sickener. A set-piece from the first attack in the first minute. Traore - showing us the skill that scored that Burnley own goal - started as nervous as Read more...

Sports, Boxing - Fight Club By Stephen Allen
Nobody told me I should do boxing. It was only my cousin Gavin who told me about the St Paul's Boxing Club when I was eleven. Gavin took me down there the first time. I didn't know what to expect. As we pulled up I saw a small brick building, with a blue sign saying St Paul's. Read more...

By Jonathan Rollison
The Beverley 10k - what a fantastic morning - well done Beverley Athletics Club! This was my first ever running event since school - 26 years ago. He admitted later that he started the home sprint too early, but Read more...

Sports, Football - In Reply To Football Sugar Daddies - Helping or Killing (By Steve Everett) By Gareth Marshall
First of all, I have to concede that I actually agree with Steve about the crux of his article.
