Sports Power Kiting
Windfest 2003 at Hunstanton. (28/29 June)
Another last minute rush and the roads were heaving, but it was well worth the effort as Windfest turned out The Place To Be last weekend.

Lots of sponsored riders, designers and general kite celebs made the weekend pretty memorable but which kiting weekends aren't?!

Thanx are due again to God (for the weather) and Adam (for the roof over my head, tea Saturday night and a constant supply of alcohol and smokes throughout the weekend!).

Not the best arena to fly kites..
Not very much kiting action on the Saturday, but plenty of chilled live music and kite mates old and new to catch up with.

I believe there was supposed to be a kitesurfing event happening over the weekend, but I managed to completely miss it if it did happen.

STACKED Guerillas (Now you won't see that very often)

The only competition I did spot was the Awards for Best Vehicle. Everybody seems to of gone van-crazy this year Naish, Flexifoil, Da Kine etc had some stunning rigs, but give me the open-top jeep anyday.

Saturday night's party was courtesy of Flexifoil and I remember very little of it to be honest! I certainly recall wanting to lay back on the sea wall, and (as my eyes gradually focussed) realising the drop over the back was about 15 feet! the more I drank, the more I convinced myself I was going to fall off and cause a scene..

Don't they look good?

Windfest 2003 at Hunstanton. (28/29 June) continued
Sunday proved better for wind, and I headed off down to Brancaster to see some kitesurfing - unfortunately forgetting to take my camera down to the beach.

Managed to have a play with a pretty big guerilla (!), and cooled down with some body dragging on the 4.9 Blade.

Sorry I didn't get more pics, but I was having such a fun time. ;-)

Sponsored rider Chris Calthrop, among other things, the first person to kitesurf jaws.

I hear this guy can fly kites
Flexifoil sponsored rider Danny Seales wonders if Adam's realised he's broken out in spots, and asks if he's been to Canada recently.

Sports - Fast Electric Radio Control Model Boats
By Stuart Batley
For some years now I've been going through the motions, like most model enthusiasts do, buying in turn boats, planes, cars, heli's (both IC and electric) but most settle down to one, mine's 'fast electric boats'. I first started by buying an ARTR kit from my local 'Hobby Stores' and then off to the lake and join the club there. On arrival I was taken aback by the speed of some of the hydro type boats, whizzing by. Read more...

Sports - Hull Stingrays vs. Edinburgh Capitals - 9th Feb 2004
By Matt with Video AVI's of The Game
Hull Stingrays followed up their 2-2 draw with Bracknell the previous night with a 5-1 defeat against Edinburgh Capitals. If lady luck had been on Hulls side the result could have been very different. They had a bag full of chances but Kundra did extremely well to keep Hull down to only one goal. Edinbrough opened the scoring after almost.. Read more...

Sports Football - The Scarborough Warning
By Patrick Henry
Scarborough F.C. are at home to mighty Chelsea in the 4th round of the FA. Cup on Saturday, January 24th. Before anybody laughs at the idea of these minnows reaching victory, it should be remembered that we knocked out Chelsea from the League Cup on our ground in 1989. Then Chelsea had stood top of the whole League, before the Premiership existed, and Scarborough played in Division Four a brief period. Read more...

Sports - Take Me to the River - Carp Anglers by Mo
I am an amateur angler, mostly river fishing as a youth at a time when televisions were black and white. I was 14 maybe, I had my own rods (3) and tackle, a selection of floats, some ledger weights, hooks and line, all kept in our shed alongside my recent purchase of maggots. I always took great pleasure in seeing my four sisters scream and run at the sight of these little yellow .. Read more...

Sports - Great Britain v Australia - 15/11/03 KC Stadium
By Nick Quantrill
Wow, this was sport! I'm not normally a huge fan of rugby league. My interest in playing the game ended when I lost a front tooth in a school 'friendly'. Nowadays, I tend to favour games in which you can predict the bounce of the ball. This game was special though; huge even, and what's more, it was being played in Hull by a Great Britain team Read more...
