In an effort to keep the material and his performance fresh he bravely includes untried and untested material; virginal verse anyone? What's more, there's more movement on stage and attack from Mike as his confidence and unique style develops. As for the piece about Hull, the passion and fervour was abundantly clear within the rhetoric. An honest depiction of where we live, yet a strongly partisan poem that brought forth cheers of support from the people of Hull.

Popular leading Johnny Cash tribute act Keep It Cash enjoyed something of revival last year with the release of the biopic of the man in black's turbulent life and subsequent death. Tonight their usual hour long set was cut slightly short, due to time restrictions. However, the critically acclaimed country blues outfit rounded off the night with a selection of well known Cash standards and a few slower ballads maybe less so.

Cocaine Blues and Ring Of Fire early on set the tempo for a right old knees up which saw line dancing in the Adelphi; surely a first? Keep It Cash are that good I'd have no qualms in bringing my father a lifelong Johnny Cash fan, to one of their shows.
