Election Wars 2: Enter the Candidates (1/3)
by Lee Cassanell
|
(1/3),
(2/3),
(3/3).
|
Diana Johnson as - The Red Baron
|
Martin Dean as - Captain Planet
|
Lydia Rivlin as - The Blue Oyster
|
Dennis Healy as - The Yellow Peril
|
Lee Cassanell as - Ronald McDonald, Mo as - Jimmy Olsen
|
Chairman Chang
|
The Chanterlands Avenue Baptist Church Mafia as - Themselves
|
The Story so far....
Emperor Tony Blair declared war on The Saddam the Merciless and the Good people of Planet Britain are pissed.
Despite the fact that an earlier expedition to exterminate the Evil Taliban was regarded as a liberation, and not, a mindless assault on another culture the Baptist Mafia are on the brink of tossing Emperor Blair into the Soul eating death pit of "Houseoflords" unless he can give them a damn good reason why he never asked their permission to free another country from Saddams sweaty (but surprisingly nimble) evil clutches.
Ever since the Democracy Wars of 1645AD it has been traditional that each sect of the British Federation send a representative to argue their point of view in the vain hope that they, one day, will wield the crystal Mantle of Power.
But the Baptists are blood thirsty
The Candidates, twitchy
And as Chairman Chang clears his throat to commence proceedings, a suspicious hush of silence deafens the idol adorned room...

|
Lydia Rivlin - Conservative
|
War - Thinks the Falklands Conflict was a bunch of Penguins bitch-slapping each other
Religion - A women of the cloth. How do I know? She was wearing it.
Education - She'd like to see more schools being built on Mars
Pensioners - She is one!
Eccentricity - Like the Mad Auntie you always wish you had.
|
|
Standout Idea - Not to repeal the law on Euthanasia which may or may not come back to haunt her one day
Professionalism - Vague, confused, unsure. A true Conservative
Theme Tune - Max Bygraves - You're a Pink tooth brush/I'm a blue toothbrush
Use in a Fight - Deadly with a plate of scones and a pot of tea.
Drink of Choice - Sherry. I bet you a billion pounds
Why should I vote for her: I honestly don't know...for a laugh maybe.

in all this, New Labour.

Burning Issues - Was 9/11 the greatest show on earth? By Martin Deane.
|
|
The War on Terror is based on the premise that the 2001 9/11 attacks on New York and Washingotn,
which killed nearly 3,000 people were carried out by 19 Islamic fundamentalist men.
The official story has been played in such detail throughout our media that we will
all know it. But the facts could be - and probably

Does intelligence help us? By Robin Ramsay.
|
|
Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit-9/11 is great propaganda but, like all propaganda, it isn't about
the truth. In a section mocking the so-called "Coalition of the willing" which supported the
US invasion of Iraq, Moore listed several very small countries - but omitted Australia,
the UK and others. For Australia

In Reply To - A letter from Pablo Gonzales to his MP Alan Johnson, By Rt Hon Alan Johnson MP.
|
|
Dear Mr Gonzalez,
Thank you for your thoughtful and considered letter of 17th July.
I have thought constantly about the decision I made to vote for this country to go to war on March 18th 2003. It was of course the first time that a decision to go to war had not been made by royal prerogative.

On Saturday 17th July activists from Hull joined campaigners from all over the region

Whilst six of us chained ourselves to the milk aisle, the rest, dressed as cows and milkmen
gathered outside the store to highlight the fact that Sainsburys own brand milk
comes from cows fed on GM
