Poetry

Crime Scheme

By Liberties Trip (Izzy)

With a plastacine face
they design against grace
their gifts to abuse
the temptation too great

my pupils dilate
as my sight I re-choose
I pause at the gate
do pupils die late ?

upon this I peruse
a student of fate
as I'm stroking the gate
and murdering blues

will I murder them too
the people I hate
or succumb to my fate
and heal them anew

The Peace I Know

By Liberties Trip (Izzy)

the peace i see
is a smiling man
happy to toil through the day

so far and away
the task at hand
his mind from thought ever free

the peace i hear
is a song on the air
from the throat of a woman unseen

her notes they do glean
of secrets so fair
caught by my languishing ear

A Pocket Of Peace

By Liberties Trip (Izzy)

as i sit at the bar
skimming over the news
some chatter, some babble
a bubble, from t'rabble
tries to invade my recluse

but it washes right over
like so much water
flushing away mental poos

thank god for assaults on pockets of peace
they remind me
that violence will lose

Poetry - Super Escape
By Rich Mills
Inject the god that makes me whole.
That's why I need a drug that hugs my soul.

Brief clarity before dirty wind drags me all about.
Mind now numb no longer able to dictate a verbal doubt.

Perpetuate the cycle of drugs debt and depression.
Quit today, stop tomorrow, take a life on Read more...

Poetry - What is a Friend?
by Scott
Have you ever asked yourself, what is a Friend?
Surely it's a special relationship that'll not break but bend.
For you've known each other for years as mates,
During which you've got into some scrapes and states,
And over time recognise each other's strong points,
Confidences and deep thoughts shared over joints,
Are genuinely happy for their luck and enterprises,
Whilst lovingly empathising with their darker surprises.

Opinions - Refill Not Landfill
By Cilla
What do you think about the price of printer cartridges?

I can't afford them. My printer has long periods of rest between bouts of frenzied use while the colours still give any semblance of anything other than black and white. The very idea of the printer being useable is a treat for the whole family!

Driving - Jo's DRIVING LESSONS
Here I was living alone with my 3 children, my husband having just left us to cope alone. My eldest daughter, only just 18, was keen to learn to drive and I didn't want to spend a fortune on driving lessons, at least not until she could learn as much as she could from me. Read more...

News - Local LETS
I am Jane and am setting up a LETS scheme for Ella Street and the surrounding area.
LETS stands for ‘Local Exchange and Trading System’. It’s basically like going back to the old system of trade and barter rather than using money as a currency. Read more...
