I See Myself in You
By Lee Cassanell
|
From delusion lead me to Truth.
From darkness lead me to Light.
From death lead me to eternal life.
Hindu Sanskrit Prayer
|
Lost are my dreams
Nothing left but the breeze
That I felt on my face for a time,
Gone all my hopes
Disappeared with the smoke
To a place I can't fathom or find,
Abandoned my love
Buried deep in the mud
By a hand that once held me so tight,
Forgotten I fade
As the sky turns to grey
And embraces the blackness of night.
|
|
My memories
My tears,
All those warm carefree years that I played as a child in the sun,
My questions
My thoughts
Every truth I was taught by my heartbroken father and mum.
What a crime
What a waste
As you stare at my face do you see your own child in a shroud?
What is left but bereft
What is life but a breath
That is blown until death comes around.....

Eyes are blinded, stinging, burning,
Heart is thumping, feeble, failing,

The innocent birds die by the score

And although it's not PC
I giggle a bit, 'cos I know instinctively

Poetry - TERROR By Del 'Abe' Jones

Does the sound of bombs exploding
And the hot shrapnel humming by
Sound different when, "in Freedom's name"?
Cause less terror in the victim's eye?
Does the searing pain feel different

Poetry - Dreams By Darren Sant

A wavery image flutters before a bleary eye,
You reach for it,
In vain you try to make sense of the image,
Freud & Jung laugh at your attempts,
Does it bode well for the future?

Poetry - Roadside Angels By Steve Rudd

Once you've heard one story, you'll want to hear more
That's the beauty of American folklore,
Entranced by the people emerging from the South,
Telling stories in the morning, living mouth to hand to mouth.
