Me & Jimbob
By The Lazyswede
Me & Jimbob out with the hound dog walking through them woods
Didn't see no sign of turkey all the time
Just a possum and a skunk
Then we heard a rustling in the pine trees
Thought our luck had changed
To our surprise before our eyes
A grizzly a running came
It's had the biggest teeth and the sharpest claws
And it sure didn't hang around
We was off as fast as we could
Running through them woods
I left Jimbob hanging from a pine tree
Didn't see my dog for dust
When I got home my dog was there
Boy was I shook up
I went and got old Tim brown
His two sons Paul and bob
Shotguns loaded ready to aim
If the grizzly he should come
We called to Jimbob along the trail
Not a sound we heard
Then to our surprise before our eyes
Three grizzlies's a running came
They've got the biggest teeth and the sharpest claws
And they sure didn't hang around
We was off as fast as we could
Running through them woods
Old Tim brown and Paul and bob
Boy they sure can run
When I got home Jimbob was there my dog and my pickup truck

Lonesome Wail
By The Lazyswede
There's nothing quite so sad
As saying a last farewell
As the lonesome whistle blows
Taking them from your side

The wind blows from the mountain
And the mist is laying low
And you hear her calling you again
And tears start to flow
Lonesome wail from a mountainside
There's no love in a heart so sad
Footsteps left in the cold white snow
Lonesome wail from a heart so low

From the lonesome pine
When the sun is low
My heart yearns for a love no more
In the shadows I swore she called
On the wind and through the snow

The lonesome wail I hear inside
From my heart love I can't find
In the valley below a whistle calls
That took my love and left me cold

Poetry - AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS.. By Ken Hartford
If I admit responsibility
For the life that comes my way,
Then I feel I own my body,
But that is just to say
I take my responsibility
For giving it some care
And that might apply to everyone
And to everything everywhere. Read more...

Poetry - Spirit of Woody Guthrie
By Patrick Henry
These voices rising to a tremulous high C.,
Sad as a song created by old Woody G.,
Who long searched the home of the brave for the land of the free,
But found it's only left deep inside you and me.

Poetry - "I'm Doing Life", by Shelly D.
I don't do happy,
I don't do laughter,
I'm not easy going or relaxed,
I'm not careful or carefree,
I don't go with the flow I'm not laid back,
I'm doing life.

Poetry - The Egotist By Cilla
Tell me I'm great
Tell me I'm good
If you were a real friend
I'm sure that you would.
And why not be friends?
You're so good for me
But only when you tell
What I want to see .. Read more...

Poetry - Equal Amongst Giants (Edinburgh Literature Festival) and Night Driving in American Werewolf Country.
by Oz Hardwick
I paid my money, listened attentively,
clapped politely, filed out slowly,
stood (vaguely embarrassed), waited in line
with book at the ready to meet The Author.
I asked him to sign my favourite chapter,
