Midnight
By Laurenceaux

Tiptoe to my chamber,
as the clock it strikes the hour;
the hour of day to day.

Tiptoe to my chamber,
and knock upon my door;
that knock I've often heard before.

Come forth beside my bed,
stretch out your silken hand,
and I'll draw you down,
down into a bliss;
a world of white and eiderdown.

And face to face, eye to eye,
we'll share our lives together;
until that time of blinding fervour
comes and passes
wanes and dies
and sleep encroaches upon our lives;
taking us off,
arms and bodies all entwined,
off to a bliss of dreamy sleep,
of thoughts and actions, pleasures and ecstasies,
life's loves found and now all surpassed.
Surpassed in the hour of day to day.

Poetry - Aardvark By Terry Ireland
I went for a walk with an Aardvark

And me and my friend the Aardvark Read more...

Poetry - The Girl With The Dynamite Kiss By Lee Cassanell
Stuck in reverse and a rum from the hearse

Poetry - Poppy Day 11th November By Terry Ireland Photograph by Graham Tall

Poetry - READ This!. By Danny James Archer
You trust in words,
the 'paper' they are written on is a lie to begin with.
We believe in verbs and nouns but who invented them?
'the person who wrote your history book made it all up!'
Apparently a man made the world in 7 days.
A 'TOP SELLER' as well, it always will be.   Read more...

One more victim of your war.    Read more...

Poetry - A Sea By Another Name By Lin Whitehouse
I always wanted to live by the sea

I first met you in our student house in '93

Poetry - Ferriby Foreshore, February Afternoon 2005 By Terry Ireland
The river was calm this afternoon with a low sun

Two pairs of mallard flying line astern past me,
Splitting into two pairs each to go their own ways.

Poetry - What Have We Done? By The Lazyswede
Solitude echoes through the dark twisted branches of and old wind swept Oak tree.
