Juggling Chainsaws
By Joe Hakim

There's a gig I need to do,
a flat I need to view.

There's a point to be proved,
a sofa to be moved.

There's a table to be cleared,
a reputation to be smeared.

There's a drink I'd like to taste,
some time I'd like to waste.

There's a task to be completed,
a message I should have deleted.

There's an album to be burned,
a corner to be turned.

There's a face that needs a slap,
some hands that need to clap.

There's a piece of the jigsaw missing,
a young couple kissing.

There's a wait in the rain for a bus,
someone who doesn't want to make a fuss.

There's a place I'd like to hide,
a dented sense of pride.

There's a relationship to be fucked up,
a number to be looked up.

There's a nut to be cracked,
an employee to be sacked.

There's a pipe to be smoked,
a rumour to be choked.

And there's no time for a pause...

it's a life spent juggling chainsaws.
