Poetry

A thing of dreams

By by Jason Karlson

I’m a thing of dreams and sleep

Many a night a knight will rescue you
But that’s not me my love
I am his proud white stead below
Speed you from the darkness with
Love written across my flank
And every mile I run

I’m a thing of dreams
Qualities attributed to me through sleep
Fade away in the waking hours and fall
Further the more you grasp
At my image

Many a night you’ll see a man in the distance
But that’s not me my love
The unicorn a creature of your dreams
Like you’re in mine
You awake and I’m already gone
Running with the sandman in his kingdom

I’m a thing of dreams
Qualities attributed to me through sleep
Fade away in the waking hours and fall
Further the more you grasp
At my image

I am a creature of dreams and sleep

The only mark I wear (for you)

By by Jason Karlson

For Thess

Deep red mark around my neck
From the necklace that you bought
Bound around my throat
And bound me to you

The only mark of love I’ll wear

Sharp edges pierce my skin
Like love pierced my beating heart
When you said you were uncertain
Even though I said it first

Poetry - This is 'ull, not Manhattan
By Jane Foster
This is 'ull, not Manhattan.
Where you could feed a whole family of six

For half the price of a Jimmy Choo shoe.

Poetry - Super Escape

Inject the god that makes me whole.
That's why I need a drug that hugs my soul.

Brief clarity before dirty wind drags me all about.
Mind now numb no longer able to dictate a verbal doubt.

Perpetuate the cycle of drugs debt and depression.
Quit today, stop tomorrow, take a life on Read more...

Poetry - What is a Friend?
by Scott
Have you ever asked yourself, what is a Friend?
Surely it's a special relationship that'll not break but bend.
For you've known each other for years as mates,
During which you've got into some scrapes and states,
And over time recognise each other's strong points,
Confidences and deep thoughts shared over joints,
Are genuinely happy for their luck and enterprises,
Whilst lovingly empathising with their darker surprises.

Opinions - Refill Not Landfill
By Cilla
What do you think about the price of printer cartridges?

I can't afford them. My printer has long periods of rest between bouts of frenzied use while the colours still give any semblance of anything other than black and white. The very idea of the printer being useable is a treat for the whole family!
