Poetry
X Marks The Spot
By Amy Rout age 16

Bucket in one hand
Spade in the other
Don't go too far
Were the words of my mother
Sand between my toes
Sun cream on my face
X marks the spot
Yup, this is the place
Grandpa told me the story
About the pirates gold
Said it'd be under the X
That's the story he told
Dug my spade in deep
Was using all my might
After 10 minutes of digging
I saw a pretty site
Down there in the sand
Something shining at me
Picked it up and looked
It wasn't 50p
Ran back to my mother
Tripped up on the way
Lost the coin in the sand
It's still there to this day
Now I come back every year
Brought my grandchildren today
With their little buckets and spades
X is the spot where they play

Poetry - A Case of Silly String and Whatever Next
By Steve Rudd
Money is the root of all evil,
A positive thought that's not shared is a waste.

Second hand glances deflect scathing good looks. Read more...
