Steve Steinman is the mastermind behind the hugely successful shows Vampires Rock and The Bat Trilogy. After appearing on Stars In Their Eyes as Meatloaf, Steve threw himself into the world of entertainment without hesitation, and today he is one of the hardest-working performers in the UK, regularly touring his shows the length and breadth of the country. He is currently on tour with his fabulous Vampires Rock lovechild, a fang-tastic example of fun musical theatre at its most vibrant and exhilarating. Stopping by Scarborough Futurist Theatre this coming Saturday 24th of November, Steve got his teeth stuck into a very quick conversation indeed with Steve Rudd.

Hi Steve, How are things? Great So how has your latest tour of Vampires Rock Gone? 30,000 tickets sold this tour, great! When did you originally conceive the show, and how long from its initial conception did it take before it hit the stage for real? Around 2 years.

For those not familiar with the show, how would you best describe it? A Blast. Do you ever change the songs in the show, or is it the exact same set list every night? Yep. We move some around every year. That's the good thing about the show: its always changing. The show is a full-on, visually spectacular rock fantasy. How on earth did you manage to hook up with such a fantastic group of musicians, singers and dancers? As you clock up the years in the business you get to know the best.

Twisted sister guitarist Eddie Ojeda has joined you on your latest tour. Have you known Eddie long? I've known him two years and met him in Vegas. How would you respond to being described as one of the hardest working singers and performers in the UK, given that you never seem to stop working? That's about right, as I am also the producer and promoter, so when off-stage I am in the office.

At the start of 2008 you are set to hit the road once again with your superb Bat Trilogy tour, which pays tribute to the song writing genius of Jim Steinman and the exhilarating stage performances of Meatloaf. How does the preparation for such a tour differ to the way in which you prepare for Vampires Rock? Bat Trilogy is more a concert style show, while Vamps is more musical theatre.
