Jody McKenna, Keith Hagger, the Secret Millionaire and an Unforgettable Weekend (2/2)
By Michelle Dee
(1/2), (2/2),

How do you feel about the experience now the show has been aired?

Jody: We can't thank Martin and Channel 4 enough, everyone has been so good to us, Everything's happening right now it's been brilliant, really exciting. We both feel very lucky to have been involved and we definitely don't take any of it for granted.

Keith: We'd also like to thank The Warren and Urban Collective for supporting us. I needed an outlet for my writing, so none of this would have happened if we hadn't decided to go to The Warren that first time. I'm also wondering about my workmates at KFC and what their reaction is going to be.
Have you had people contacting you since the show was aired?

Jody: Lots of friends have been sending messages of support and saying they saw the show. I've had texts from lots of people: some random messages I don't even know who they are from.

Keith: I haven't even been home yet, my phone went dead in London so I haven't had a chance to see any of my messages. Two people stopped us in the street this morning and asked whether we'd been on the telly last night.
Jody: My Myspace site had over 800 views in less than an hour, just after the show finished. People have been leaving messages of support: one person said he'd signed up to Myspace just to download my songs.

Keith: We've got to go do Look North this afternoon.

Martin seemed to get on with you both really well, do you think you will stay in touch with him?

Jody: Martin is a legend. I think we'll keep in contact. He's a busy man and I reckon we will be a lot busier now too. I think we might get a call sometime to see how things are going.
Jody and Keith are sure to be busy. Tuesday they play at Linnet and Lark as Warren Records and Urban Collective take over The Sesh on Princes Avenue. Thursday sees them at another Warren Records/Urban Collective event, this time at Durty Nellies in the old town.
Friday night is the Official Warren Records FREE Launch Party at The Lamp Beverley Road. Jody is also due to return to London May 5th for Balcony TV London at Camden Lock. (The last act to play this gig was The Script!)

Jody: The adrenaline is still on overload, everything is going on, but I'd just like to say that I couldn't have shared this whole thing with anyone else than Keith. I think we came across a bit like a duo and we might work on a few songs together in the future.
