Opinions
The Moaning Bulldog Breed.
By Engelbert De'Moaner

I must admit I'm just as prone to moaning as the next person; God it's raining again; It's too damn hot; What, they've put the price of fags up again!

So what! Who cares? Just stop bloody moaning!

Even if you or I do moan what good is it going to do any of us? We never do anything about anything at all!
We take life for granted and what morsel of life's luxuries are thrown our way we take them and run off to enjoy it before the guarantee's run out, then we start to moan again because it's finally broken and no longer works.

It's a pity we can't take out an extended guarantee on our mouths so when they get tired we just take them back and get them replaced.
Some are dreamers and sit on their behinds waiting for the day when everything falls into their laps. Then there are the workers who gladly go to work because they enjoy it, then there are those who go to work and hate every second of it but because it's part of life's necessities.

Like they say Shit Happens and there's not a damn thing we can do about it, if something's going to happen then just sit back and accept it, no matter what it is because once you accept that life is unpredictable then you can begin to enjoy it, if you want to smoke and kill yourself go ahead; if you want to drink yourself into oblivion go ahead because at the end of the day it's your life.
People from all over the world know just how much the British people moan and yes we do we moan about anything just as long as there is something to moan about. We moan because were bored but we still moan when we are doing something because it's taking up our time, so were missing out and could be something else.

But being the great British race, the proud bulldogs of the world we must keep that stiff upper lip and uphold tradition, as Winston Churchill once said!

We fought them on the beaches, we fought them in the skies but we bored the poor buggers to death by moaning all time.

Opinions - Life is too Short By The Lazyswede
I sat on the quiet banks of the river watching the early morning mist twist and swirl while the water meandered slowly into the distance, listening to the far off sounds of the city as the people made their way to work Car horns blowing and the sound of voices carrying on the gentle breeze. Yet although so close, I could Read more...

Opinions - Blame By Darren Sant
I didn't say you were to blame, I said I'm blaming you. I am getting heartily sick of the blame culture we live in these days. Something goes wrong in the hospital, we sue. The dentist pulls out the wrong tooth, we sue. Admittedly we are not as bad as Americans yet, thank god, but Read more...

Opinions - A Call for Peace By Michelle Dee Clark
Martin Luther King had a dream. His dream was crushed by jack booted, hooded ignorance. There has always been wrong in this world. From the trials in Scottsboro* Alabama in the 1930's to more recent events in Jasper Texas in 1998**. We are all guilty. When you talk of Kosovans and Iraqi's you focus on what the media want you to then project that onto everyone, be it ethnic minorities or anyone Read more...

Opinions - Life in a Modern World By Darren Sant
Some of my thoughts on bizarre aspects of our modern world.. Unreality TV
Is it me or is the world getting weirder? This is a world where people watch TV programmes like Big Brother. People sit around on a settee watching the telly watching people sitting on a settee. I'm beginning to get a headache. Now if they all had little cages on their heads Read more...

What do you think about the price of printer cartridges?

I can't afford them. My printer has long periods of rest between bouts of frenzied use while the colours still give any semblance of anything other than black and white. The very idea of the printer being useable is a treat for the whole family!

Hi,Its Annie here and I have something to complain about! You know when the old age pensioners or students or really irritating neighbours bother you, saying you are really noisy and to quiet down a bit, well that's what I am on about. Read more...

Fashion - Revolver: When Mod meets Modification
By Daniel Laney
The new vintage clothing shop set to make a big impact in Hull city centre. Trinity Market, Hull (Opposite Trinity Church. Mon - Sat 9am-5pm) When the terms Retro or Vintage are linked with clothes, thoughts of over priced charity shop fabrics and the smell of musty damp cupboards rapidly come to mind. However, with Read more...

Places to Visit - Dinostar - THIS IS HISTORY By Daniel Laney
In the last two months Hull has welcomed a new addition to its ever growing tourist trade. Dinostar, which opened on Easter Sunday of this year, should hopefully be welcomed with open arms by families and budding historians alike and with it being a quick Read more...

Fiction - Telling Lies by Nicholas Boldock
At half past five Harry arranged all the papers on his desk into neat piles, as he always did before going home. He shoved his pens into the blue plastic desk tidy and shut down his PC. He performed this same ritual every evening, did it automatically, even unconsciously. He felt overjoyed to be finally going home - the days seemed to be getting longer and longer and longer - even though home, to Harry, was only marginally more bearable than work. Read more...

Places to Visit - Our Samhain Visit to Avebury by Janie Spencer
Before we start on our journey, let me give you a bit of background on Avebury. It is a beautiful stone circle, so big that you can in fact fit a village inside it, as you can see from this overhead map! As well as being a tourist spot, it is both a home and a gathering Read more...

Burton Constable Hall has collected several ghosts and stories from its 450 year history, the most frequently seen ghost being that of Nurse Dowdall, a much loved nanny to the children of the household during the 19th century. Read more...

Places to Visit - A day by the beach - Bridlington Harbour.
This Sunday I was spoilt for choice - either to visit a Buddhist centre in "Kilham" or attend a strawberries and cream party. Opted to go and find Zen so duly arrived with my offspring (Katie and Oliver) at my friend's house (Cilla) punctually (for a change) at 11.30. Read more...
