Whatever happened to musicians howling at the moon and fighting for the underdog? ... Whatever happened to causing genuine controversy by making a statement rather than causing a few punters to blush because you mentioned baby buggering or incest? Sure those thing are funny for a night out and I'm all for shock value and subversion but for God sake, isn't it about time something of worth and meaning was produced, something with purpose and intent that reflects the anger, disillusionment and madness of today's modern society?

Isn't that the duty of an artist? And if it isn't...whose fucking duty is it ... who else is going to rage against the machine?

I'm pig sick of wishy washy wanabee rebels who are unwilling to stand up or raise their voices, people with all the talent and ability in the world but with a conscience full of black holes and self importance. They complain about lack of inspiration and apathy in a time where the good, the bad and the ugly is more startlingly clear then ever before. I'm not saying it's an easy path to travel down, it's painful and soul destroying, it will eat you up inside but if you have any kind of creative gift that's the price you should be willing to pay and sometimes you have to sacrifice a days happiness for what you believe is the greater good.

It seems that all conversation between people these days is shallow and throwaway, very rarely do friends sit down and discuss anything of true meaning and when someone tries too, more often than not the rest are looking for an ulterior motive, waiting for chance to call them a cunt as they leave the room or ridicule them in private. There is no unity or general consensus, everyone is out for what they can get for themselves and they are convinced everyone feels the same. Unselfish acts are questioned because surely there must be an angle, this person has given something to me so what does he or she want in return?

It's a cynical, cynical world we have created for ourselves where even bands of brother's suspect the worst from their fellow man and nobody listens to one another. So consumed are they by their own arrogance that they cannot appreciate someone else's point of view because they are so convinced that they know what's best. A wise man once said The only thing that will redeem mankind is co-operation and never a truer word has ever been spoken. People need to stop being closed books and open up to the idea of group thinking, creative sharing and cross cultural exchange ...

300 loyal, trusting and Co-operative Spartans is a more effective fighting force than a million individual glory seekers who would turn on their own kind for forty pieces of silver. But anyway, what do I know? ... These are only ideas - easily deconstructed, easily ridiculed and only too quickly dismissed
