The Sexuality of the 9/11 Attacks By Christopher Skolik

The attackers and those behind the 9/11 atrocities are suffering from deformed sexual urges-there is some suggestion that within both the Taliban and Al Qaeda homosexuality is rife, which within such a mediaeval hothouse environment is liable to prove psycho-toxic. The planes themselves can easily be viewed in sexual terms-and the Twin Towers themselves as symbols of American economic virility (not only huge, but two of them.)

The Pentagon is itself a potent symbol of manhood and military virility. It goes without saying that was an act of violent homoerotic self extinction and assault-as if the terrorists could not survive such an act of homoerotic penetration, their out dated belief system and self ideation would not allow it-no matter how metaphorical the act. Only the unification of sex and death could breach that gap. The orgasmic elements of the planes entering the towers, and the resultant explosions need no elaboration. The collapse of the towers revealed American impotence to itself and the world. Such events in the personal private domain can be traumatic enough, but on a global scale this can take on new dimensions of trauma.

We can also view the American response in terms of a male rape victim who begins to target all homosexuals with violent assault, misdirected rage and anger, desperate stratagems to regain manhood, much like American policy in Iraq. When contradictions between the inside of the mind and the external world become too great the resultant resolution is often violent.

The Institutes view is simple; as the modern day equivalent to the 'old man of the mountain's' Osama Bin Laden cannot be defeated with military hardware, which will simply reclassify him as a martyr-THE ONLY WAY TO DESTROY HIM IS THROUGH RIDICULE.
