Hull's Latest Poetry Anthology - The Hull Connection; Extracting Poetry
New from Muesli Jellyfish, creators of Purple Patch Small Press Publication of the Year - Slab of Fun.
A stonewall 100% thoroughbred book of Hullite poetry, quintessentially Hulldonian in outlook and perspective, brimful of loquacious Hullnes: Wilton Carhoot.
This book maps the poetic activity that has taken place in Hull since the publication of the 1982 book book A Rumoured City, which was forwarded by Philip Larkin, and coincides with the culmination of the twenty five weeks celebrating the work and life of Larkin.
The voices in this book are various, as are the backgrounds of the writers. Something has been made recently of the divide between town and gown in the poetry world, in Hull. This book finds them seated nicely together.

Established and respected poets such as Tony Flynn and Pete Morgan (who sadly died before this book was published) have contributed unpublished material, as have Hull University lecturer David Wheatley. The background of other contributors include time as a painter, postman, van driver, tripe dresser.
Accessible and never boring, this book is a real platform to showcase Hull's recent incredible poetic talent., it is a chunky production jam packed with terrific poems.
142 poems, every one a gob smacker, by 26 talented writers, for the marvelous price of ten quid.

John Godber of Hull Truck, and Cilla Wykes of ThisisUll, all of whom have had a major effect on the area
(and if those sound like honorary titles they've got there, they should be).
