Write to Speak, Hull's biggest spoken word/poetry event, is hosting a special one off event at Freedom Festival 2010, featuring performances from the Write to Speak Workshop Poets and a special headline set from Byron Vincent.

Byron Vincent is a regular at many of the UK's most prestigious music and literary events including, Cheltenham festival of literature, Oxford literature festival, Glastonbury festival of performing arts, Latitude festival and Bristol Poetry festival. He has performed at venues as diverse as London's Whitechapel gallery and Leeds /Reading festival's alternative stage.
He has appeared on BBC3's 'The Verb' alongside Roger McGough and Ian McMillan as well as Radio 4's Bespoken Word and has also shared the bill with such luminaries as John Cooper Clarke, John Hegley, Simon Armitage and Patti Smith.

Support comes from Hull's own Write to Speak Workshop Poets, a powerful new voice in spoken word. Since their debut during the Larkin25 celebrations, they have gone on to perform at the Adelphi Club and are now taking to the stage in their first festival appearance.

The event will be hosted by Joe Hakim and Mike Watts.
