East Meets West

The Youth Voluntary Club, Hull Kung Fu met the Shaolin Warriors for the first time on Saturday 25th April.

The instructors (Mike Mitchell, Odette Mitchell and Laurence Newton) have trained in Beijing, China for many years in order to bring back the traditional Art of Kung Fu and Tai Chi to young students in the Hull and East Riding area.

The Shaolin Warriors, who put on a show at the Hull City Hall made it a memorable evening when they accepted an invitation to be photographed with members of the Hull Kung Fu club.
Hull Kung Fu is a voluntary group that helps young people change their lives, including the disadvantaged, disabled and young with learning disabilities. They help build confidence, reduce social exclusion and aid in reducing bullying. The club raises thousands for children's charities each year.
