Lonely Eric Film Project By Paul Stapleton (Pog)

Since I (Michelle Dee) signed up to the mailing list last year of the band Pog (Electro/Punk/Folk) I have received a number of emails concerning Lonely Eric. Lonely Eric's creator is Paul Stapleton the vocalist/guitarist of Brighton band Pog.

I investigated his movies, following the links handily placed in the mail out and finally discovered what it was all about.

A quick email later and Paul has kindly sent us a press release all about his film projects to share with the populace.

Lonely Eric
Eric is lonely. He lives in Knoxley Heath, a greying and forgotten estate roughly equidistant to Stevenage and Luton. It's a dangerous place, filled with every inane and cretinous time waster he is singularly unable to avoid. From brief scurries to the chemist to a simple mind-clearing ramble, Eric is doomed to have every day sent sharply down the wrong track by the equally defective bedfellows of Knoxley Heath.
His only friend is a pair of socks, one worn on each hand. They filter his feelings to him via two very contradictory points of view. It does his head in.

Special School
The Special School is placed rather uncharitably in the midst of the Knoxley Heath industrial quarter (between a leisurewear retailer and a disused lead works). Doug and Kevin attend daily, and spend their time surviving the idiotic and unimaginative activity plan by tormenting one another over eggs, hats and visits to Pound Biscuit ("Where Everything Is Pound"). All this is conducted under the tutelage of the kindly but knackered Mrs Lejzdenys, a Polish Jewish lady of Welsh upbringing.
