Poetry Idol is a twice yearly event organised by Shortfuse, one of London's premier comedy/poetry/spoken-word nights, held at The Camden Head in Islington.

Hosted by comedian and poet Nathan Penlington, previous winners include Rhian Edwards and Scroobius Pip.
Taking part in Poetry Idol 10, which took place on Thursday 17th May, was thisisUll.com's very own Joe Hakim, who went on to win the event along with Alison Brumfitt. The runners up were: Dean Atta, Elle Ludkin, Jonathan Attrill and Ashley Reaks.

The prize for winning the contest is a paid, full set supporting an established act in the upcoming Shortfuse season.

Accompanying Joe on the trip down to London was Mo, who would like to extend his thanks on behalf of thisisUll.com for the hospitality shown by all the other contestants and the event organisers.
We would like to wish Joe luck on his following two dates in the South. He will be performing at Coffee Culture at the Green Note Café in Camden on Saturday 19th May, followed by Sundown Fresh Festival on Sunday 20th May.
