Lottery Funding For Bicentennial Of The Abolition Of The Slave Trade

25th March 2007 marks the Bicentenary of the parliamentary abolition of the slave trade in Britain. This historic event will be remembered through a range of commemorative activities taking place this year across the UK. The National Lottery through the Awards for All programme and its joint partners - the Big Lottery Fund, Arts Council England, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England - want to support projects related to the anniversary and contemporary issues throughout the whole of the anniversary year until March 2008.

Awards for All could support groups and organisations in celebrating the Bicentenary and the issues it relates to in your community. Grants are available of between £300 and £10,000 for small community groups, including new groups. We can fund up to 100 per cent of the project costs. It is simple to apply for a grant, and you will get the decision on your application within eight weeks.
