Ever thought of becoming a trustee for a local charity?
|
DOC (Developing Our Communities) is holding an event to pass on information about
becoming a trustee for a charity as it is seeking to recruit Trustees to its Board.
They would like to invite you to an informal chat over lunch on Monday 17th
September 2007 from 11am to 1pm at Hull Community Network, 34-38 Beverley Road, Hull.
|
|
|
This will be an opportunity to ask questions and obtain information without committing yourself.
Please be assured this does not commit you in any way but it could help you decide if
being a trustee is the right thing for you.
|
|
Trustees are the people responsible for ensuring that charities and organisations have a
clear strategy, and that it complies with all necessary rules and legal obligations.
Collectively, trustees are known as the board and they have a number of formal roles and
responsibilities, which include appointing key people and keeping a check on the
organisation's finances and activities. Being a trustee is an incredibly important role,
which makes a huge difference to its success and impact.
Whilst DOC is seeking to recruit Trustees to its Board it may be that you are
interested in other charities.
|
|
If this be the case they can assist with information and link with other charities.
We all have a unique combination of expertise and perspectives to offer.
|
Trusteeship is a great way to make a significant difference to DOC or any organisation
you may be interested in. As a respected and responsible role, it is also a brilliant
route to developing new skills, gaining more experience and getting involved with new networks.
Boards need people like you to bring new insights, vision and support.
If you would like to book a place please contact Michael Young by ringing 01482 854550.

Dear Friends,
Two items you are unlikely to hear of in our rather gutless media:
On 20th June the US House of Representatives voted 411-2 for a resolution condemning Iran for its aggressive pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Never mind there is no evidence for this. Like Iraq, Iran is far too important to waste time on truth or diplomacy. In addition, a third aircraft carrier, the
