Flood Assistance For Small Businesses In The Humber Region
|
Business Link Humber is working continuously with leading organisations to put
in place recovery plans following the recent flooding.
The following list conveys the assistance that is available at this time.

Temporary accommodation in industrial units or managed workspace is offered.
Clients from outside the authority are welcome to apply.

For disposal of contaminated waste please call 01482 300300 for advice, or your usual commercial waste disposal provider.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council
Similar scheme to Hull City Council for temporary accommodation.
For business rate relief call 01482 394748, taken on a case by case basis.

Banks
Many have extended existing measures such as repayment holidays to cover existing loans
as well as new loans. Extensions to overdrafts may be possible.
Call your local bank manager to discuss on a case by case basis.

Federation of Small Businesses
The Federation of Small Businesses has announced the establishment of a half-million
pound fund to assist businesses that have been affected by the floods across the country.
It has set aside the sum of £500,000 as a fund available to grant short-term interest
free loans (not exceeding £5,000 per individual case) to any FSB member suffering severe
trading hardship resulting from the present flood crisis - especially where there is no
other financial support available to them.
Any FSB member wishing to apply for assistance should contact their regional office for

Both companies will consider business interruption rebates where telephone lines have been cut -
case by case basis.
Insurance Claims
Kennett Insurance advises claimants to put in their claim as early as possible even though the
extent of the damage may not yet be known. Many policies will include business interruption insurance and allow for emergency repairs and replacements.
