Schools ETC Award

Schools working with voluntary and community groups are being invited to compete for a first prize of £2,000.

The Schools ETC Award is given to schools that demonstrate excellence in the provision of extended/ community focused services.

This year the Award will recognise schools that involve local voluntary and community groups, whether to enhance their extended/ community focused activities and services, or to support the core curriculum.
To meet the criteria for the awards, schools must:
  • Benefit from the skills, knowledge and experience of voluntary or community organisations in delivering a service in or through your school
  • Involve local voluntary or community groups in steering groups or management committees
  • Make school facilities accessible to voluntary or community groups in a way that benefits pupils/ parents.
Further programmes will operate in various locations around the Humber Region during 2006 and 2007.
Schools that apply for the Award and meet all the criteria, including being a member of the Schools ETC network, will have the opportunity to win £2000 (1st prize) or £1000 (2nd prize) to support the development of extended/ community focused services in their school.

All applicants must first have membership to the Schools ETC network which helps schools to improve outcomes through community/ extended services.
