November 2004 - New Magazine to Hit the Streets of Hull.

This November, Hull gets its very own what's on/lifestyle magazine. Twag magazine will be launched on 11th November and will be distributed free throughout the city and surrounding area. Containing a comprehensive guide to what goes on in our city, Twag will also have a light-hearted mix of local news and gossip, fashion, interviews and in particular, photo spreads of Hull people out and about enjoying what the city has to offer.

Almost every major city in Britain has a magazine along these lines representing it. It's about time Hull did too, explains publisher Ray Ribeiro. Hull is changing into a much more cosmopolitan, diverse and exciting place to be and Twag will reflect this new image by showing that Hull is anything but dull.

As Twag will be given away in all the cafes, pubs, clubs and popular venues in the area, Ray is hoping that local people as well as local businesses will not only support the venture but contribute to it too. We're looking for creative individuals who know Hull and who have new and exciting ideas for the magazine, regardless of experience. Hull has some unique talents within its borders and we want to promote that in any way we can.

Although unashamedly tabloid in its approach, Twag will also tackle some of the more serious issues which face our city, such as under-age drinking and yob-violence. These issues have damaged Hull's image in the past. We're going to show this sort of behaviour is no longer tolerated and that the city is now a safe and enjoyable place for everyone to go out in.
