Good things come in small packages!

By Sally

1st August 2003
The children of Marfleet Primary School in Hull have joined forces with Barrow Island Primary School and Lowick School, Abbotsmead in Barrow, Cumbria to produce a fantastic exhibition of art that consists of more than 1500 pieces.

Each piece of work has been made to fit into a matchbox and was inspired by the children’s own unique insight into their various schools and communities.

Thanks Katie.
The work covers an incredible range of subjects from scary sea creatures to school dinners (and how scary is that?) and uses many mediums from clay models to junk sculpture.

This innovative exhibition comes to Artlink Exchange, 21 Princes Avenue, Hull HU5 3RX from Saturday August 2nd to 4th September.

The collaboration, called EAST-WEST, was put together by Ian Killen of Hull Community Arts group ARTLINK EXCHANGE and John Hall, artist in residence at Barrow Island Primary School.

For further information phone 01482 345104 or email artlink@pop3.poptel.org.uk
