Bush is 4-letter word for...
By Rich Mills
2 days, 1000's of police and 100's of thousands of protestors... A typical jolly out for the hardcore of Hull activists who made their way down to London to protest against G. Bush's visit to our country.
What started for us with haranguing the presidential cavalcade outside Downing Street on Wednesday afternoon, ended with us doing it again by shear chance as we came across the man and his army of men-in-black outside Buck Palace.
Having escaped police-lines in Trafalgar Square after the main protest on Thursday, we managed to get through to the Palace to find ourselves to be a small hand-full of protestors who made it through.
As we contemplated heading homeward, there was a flurry of activity outside the Palace and the Bush cavalcade suddenly appeared unexpectedly from the Buck Palace entrance.
Lot's of shouting and gestures of defiance from our little gang of rebels made the whole experience worthwhile, as we had our own private chance to show the most evil man on the planet what we thought of him.
As usual with such events estimates on numbers vary.
The number of protestors must have hit the 100,000+ mark as it took hours for the last protestors to enter Trafalgar Square on Thursday evening.
We witnessed and cheered at the pulling down of Bush in effigy in the middle of the Square.
Then protestors started to light fires all over Trafalgar.
We all danced and chanted around the number of large bonfires in the middle of one of London's most famous landmarks.
Despite the over-kill of police, many dressed as Robo-Cop we all had great fun and partied for hours into the night.
If any proof was needed as to the feelings that Mr Bush brings out in people, then the cheers as we burned him in effigy were proof enough.
I'm glad to have been part of such an awe inspiring event, and feel that we did the Hull contingent proud.
We had luck and good fortune on our side, as we seemed to always be in the right place at the right time.
I'm sure Mr Bush thought though that the only protestors in London over the two days, were a motley bunch on anarchists from Hull.

Holidays - Ibiza, The World Keeps Gurning By Andi
Ibiza has long been known as the clubbing capital of the world. However, recent
years have seen the development of resorts such as Ayai Nappa in Cyprus
and Faliraki in Rhodes.
This has lead to a fairly wide-spread belief that Ibiza is dying it's death.

Humber Mouth Interviews - Tony Petch: Vanishing Point By Nicholas Boldock
Tony Petch could be regarded, in the nicest possible way, as an elder statesman of poetry in Hull. He's certainly been around for a while now (and I'm sure he won't mind me pointing that out) and has been published in innumerable anthologies and magazines over the years. It comes as a surprise to discover that Vanishing Point is his first solo collection.

Music Reviews - Silhouette club, Shaun Ryder DJ at the Tube indie night by Allen Miles
Cilla suggested that I go with a friend down to the Silhouette club in Park Street on Saturday night, to see the
infamous ex-Happy Mondays and Black Grape frontman Shaun Ryder DJ at the Tube indie night. A fine idea.
For those of you who have never been, silhouette is quite a small club which is centered by it's massive dance floor, surrounding this is a concourse which forms the rest of the main room of the club.

Driving - Jo's DRIVING LESSONS
Here I was living alone with my 3 children, my husband having just left us to cope alone. My eldest daughter, only just 18, was keen to learn to drive and I didn't want to spend a fortune on driving lessons, at least not until she could learn as much as she could from me.

- My September 11th 2001
By Mo
I'd spent the better part of my working life in Wall Street, having migrated over on the software developer slave trade back in the early 1990's, so Manhattan was in effect my second home, and I had often cause to visit clients in various floors of the nearby twin towers.
