Saturday 1st March 08 - Local Band Make it to Live and Unsigned Semi-Finals

Up against 10,000 other entrants in the Live and Unsigned national talent competition for bands, local band The Riffs have made it through to the semi-finals this weekend in Sheffield. The overall winner receives investment and a single release. The Riffs are Christian, Moggy and Baz from The Beards (Baz is in The Dirty Dreamers too), and Gray from Turismo (also ex Sidewinder). They've been plugging away at The Riffs behind the scenes for the last few months and are taking a coach with 32 people to Sheffield with them on Saturday.

They're on Myspace, Radio One's OneMusic, Channel 4's 4Unisgned, Global Icon TV, UK Undiscovered Radio, TuneTribe and Live and Unsigned. Having just recorded a new demo (download it from their Myspace www.myspace.com/theriffshull ) The Riffs are looking forward to making a big noise with their first gig with new material after Easter.

Listen out for them on Raw Talent on Radio Humberside on the 20th April when they'll be playing a live session which they'll be following up with their first local gig.
