Hull can now boast being home to the region's number one club
night and café-bar after the city scooped two Galaxy Nightlife Awards.
Every year, the radio station gives its listeners the chance to
show their appreciation for the places that play an essential
part in their lifestyles. Thousands voted - via the Galaxy
) - on their top places to visit on a typical weekend, broken
down into nine key areas.
Galaxy does not make any suggestions about the places listeners
might consider, nor does it sub-divide categories into different
towns or cities. The result means each category winner has been
elected by Galaxy listeners across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire
as the number one venue region-wide.
As you can see below, Déjà vu
voted the region's Best Club Night while Planet Coffee scooped the
award for Best Café-Bar. Hull also had a further five shops and
venues that managed top five rankings in their respective categories.
These included Fuel (runner up for Best Gay Night) and That Bar (
voted the region's fourth best bar).
Galaxy Marketing Manager Jimmy Endicott said: At Galaxy we tend to
work closely with lots of lifestyle-related businesses, so it's useful
to keep tabs on the places our listeners really rate.
Thanks to all our voters for getting involved and congratulations
to the winners for being the best in their respective fields.
