Glenn Williams CD (aka The Lazyswede) Hits the Top
|
Glenn Williams Cd entitled Something Old Something New
has just hit the number one spot!
It's the number one British Roots album in the True Country category for January 2007
on the Official Independent Radio Chart List on Root Music Report
http://www.rootsmusicreport.com/unitedkingdomchart.php
website in America.
Independent Radio Stations around the world submit their playlists
each week and Glenn's album has received so much airplay that it
hit the number one spot.
|
|
|
Glenn has beaten artists such as Eric Clapton (no. 3) Albert Lee (no. 4)
Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris (no. 7) to the top spot on the Roots Music chart list.
|
|
Glenn said today that finally he feels like he has received some recognition for
his song writing after all these years, and has proved some of the so-called
critics don't have a f**king clue!
Glenn also added that a lot of thanks must go to his friend and fellow muso
Paul Hewson (well known musician and drummer in Hull) for his encouragement
to get Glenn to record his own songs after being away from performing for so many years.
|
|
It was Paul's Private studio where the songs were recorded and Paul did a great
job after being thrown in at the deep end to play the other instruments on the
country music album. Without his help this CD would not have seen the light of day.
|
Thanks also to publisher Mr David Paramor of R.P.Media Publishing Ltd UK for
being a good friend and having faith in Glenn's song writing over the years
(David Paramor was the Former General manger of the pop division of Emi
music publishing UK for many years working with such artists as
Queen, The Sex Pistols and Blondie).
All the songs Glenn has recorded are available for FREE download on Glenn's website:
