Last Updated: 09/05/2007 15:25:04
U2 cover band U2opia has been a year and a half in the making, but we finally formed 10 weeks ago.
We set out to become the top pub band in hull as we are all getting on a bit and all have full time jobs.
The ethos of the band was to be the best we can be with no delusions of grandeur or high expectations, but within the first two rehearsals we knew we had something special.
|
|
|
We are all seasoned pros so we know the difference between a good band and a great band, but never at any point did we realise we were going to be as good as we are, especially after only 8 rehearsals.
Because of the rehearsal studio we use there were a lot of influential people around while we were rehearsing and the response we got after the first couple or three rehearsals was amazing. We rehearse at Sharp Street rehearsal studios off Newland Avenue, a perfect venue for us.
|
The members of the band are as follows:
Drums - Rob Woolly
Lead Guitar - Steve Dean
Keyboards - Alan Kyle
Bass Guitar - Steve Shaw
Lead Vocals - Lee Craddock
We have rough recordings of our rehearsals live on our website,
www.u2opia.info
. Just click on the audio tab for the option of download or just listen to them.
|
|
|
Please bear in mind these are live rehearsal recordings done with a 4 track, the quality isn't up to much and there are a few warbles here and there but they are taken from the 6th and 8th rehearsal.
Hope to see you all at our opening gig at the King Billy pub, market place in Hull. It's £2.50 on the door or to be assured of a place you can purchase tickets from the venue.
U2opia at the King Billy Sunday 27th May 9pm.
