Band Biog and Tour Dates The Talks
Photographs By Kate Langan

The Talks www.myspace.com/thetalks were formed in June 2006, though it was a culmination of 6 months of writing and recording in Lint's sweaty bedroom. Lint (vocals/guitar) and Jody (guitar/vocals) met at college many years ago and have been touring and recording ever since.

Following their progression through a series of other bands (Lint has been seen touring with Neville Staples Band, Ranking Roger and Pato Banton, along with Jody in Bad Manners, covering Europe, Israel and Australia) and a mutual love of 70's punk, ska, reggae and the burgeoning new indie, they decided to start The Talks, enlisting the talents of E on bass guitar and Titch on drums.
Already clocking up support slots to Reverend & The Makers, The Tender Box, The Beat and Neville Staple's Band, The Talks prepare to embark on their second tour. Having already generated an ever increasing army of fans and gaining a huge amount of positive feedback, both through previous live dates and via their Myspace page, The Talks now look set to take the country by storm. This is a band to watch, without a doubt.
"Another act you really owe it to yourself to know sooner than later are The Talks. A reggae/ska/indie band from Hull that are a whole lot better than that sounds. About as far away from The Ordinary Boys opportunistic take on 80's Ska as you could get, this is genuine, edgy and refreshing - doesn't sound like anyone else whilst not sounding unfamiliar - a very, very good sign indeed."

ICA magazine, Scotland (Feb 2007)

"An infectious and playful mix of ska reggae and good old fashioned rock 'n' roll, which is all evident on the upbeat ska driven "Teachers" or the laid-back, but upbeat, reggae stylings of the swaggering "Kids In Town"."

Ten Foot City Magazine (Dec 2006)
