The band released demos showcasing the new songs, sold Dreamers logo t-shirts and lighters that were snapped up at every gig. In the last few months the band had played few home gigs so tonight was eagerly received by their fans and a tangible buzz had grown around this homecoming gig. They open with Shape Up which is once again dedicated very kindly to Mich Dee followed by You Gotta Fight 'em and They'll catch you out which has found it's way onto the Sesh 4 compilation too.

Short bursts of high octane power guitar and electrifying vocal tones. Three Lines sees Ash jumping off the stage and handing the mic over to everyone in the front row to scream out the chorus. This disorderly act has been duplicated by many bands, but it was Ashley I saw doing it first.

New material sits just as strong beside the older songs I Need It harks back to the seventies rock roots of the Dreamers sound as did Wake Up. Disease ever popular with the crowd had us all jumping and dancing. This was a very special gig both in the moment and now with hindsight. The Dirty Dreamers treated the baying crowd to an encore of Three Lines the first and it would seem sadly the last they'll ever do.

The noise levels for the much loved band were incredible and the diehard Dirty Dreamers fans, gave them every ounce and every drop of energy and love possible. Everyone left on a massive high and we were all still singing the cool lyrics outside in the chill night air.

Sadly this was to turn out to be the last gig with Ash Foster fronting the band. It would seem that as ever, behind the scenes the band had been struggling to overcome differences. Once more a very promising band from Hull is left to mend the broken pieces and start over. Rumours are bound to circulate on the whys and wherefores of what has happened, I'm just gutted that yet another Hull band has been taken away before reaching their full potential. Good luck all of you, with whatever new projects you decide to pursue. Thanks Dirty Dreamers (past and present) for the crazy days and electrifying nights of hard ass rock n roll.
