He is fortunate to have the talented Miss Williams on every other instrument and Rosey on drums, who restrained himself well and played superbly (it's the cymbals, Rosey - you didn't hit 'em - that's good for me) not forgetting Tom on guitar. It seemed one other band member had Checked out before the gig ... leaving them to improvise the bass. Worthy winners on the night, Elf played some very original songs and provided excellent entertainment.

Scores were: Winners ELF 164 points, 2nd Hollywood 161 3rd The Maker 141. Well played all the bands.

A big thank you to all three judges for their hard work and concentration on the night. Also to Dez for his erudite epistle on Hull Rocks www.hullrocks.tk. Oh, nearly forgot the shirt and Gary-who-works-hard. Also going to thank myself, as no-one else has (except Dez), for PA setting up, sound checks, mixing all night and then cooking the tea after and doing the write ups as well. So there.
