Lovemat - Between The Lines (Disturbia) Reviewed By Steve Rudd Release date: April 3rd 2006.

A racy anthem to get your rocks off to, the heady music of Lovemat is primarily propelled by mesmerising guitar riffage that thunders into the mix beside delectable harmonies and strong vocals from Paul Kell. They are an old-skool hard rock band and hail from Newcastle, with this being their debut single. If I were you, I'd buy up a few copies of this release, because if they do become rich and famous in the long run (which they deserve to do on the back of quality music of this calibre), then this single release might be worth a bob or two a few years down the line. Just something to think about.

Through Between The Lines singer Paul admits that Between the lines my heart beats faster, before their Lost In The City B-side reveals that Lovemat most definitely possess a quirky side to their hard-rocking nature. Apparently this tune is about Newcastle's 'infamous' Bigg Market, and is eccentric enough to perhaps put some people in mind of Maximo Park's off-beat sensibilities that go down so well. Lovemat have actually played with the 'Park before, along with Towers of London and Minus. They openly admit that, as a band, We thrive on being different; we always support the underdog - which is an admirable attitude indeed.
