She Likes Parties came on next, amidst cat calls and whistles for the stylish Sally Dearing. The band sound a lot tighter tonight more polished performance wise says Damien from HMV Hull. Sally looks hot they say around me but I concentrate on her vocal delivery I hate that you feel blending a spoken voice/yell out voicing style. She sings barefoot like Sandie Shaw did back in the day.

I hear some great stand up and look at me guitar breaks and begin to feel that the band are ready to come alive. The front row of fans, whom are almost on top of the band, certainly think so; they yell encouragement, applauding at every opportunity. A shift in guitar sound brings deeper tones from the one in tight white drainpipe trousers. A colourful sound rings out like smashing ceramic dishes on cold tile floors then waw-a-waw guitar for In My Blood.

I get so excited bouncing around, that I pull a muscle just as the distorted guitar trilling starts. Another good showing from She Likes Parties. More gigs will see them come together even more, perhaps experiment with a few things and surprise everybody.

Headliners tonight were The Romance from Midboro. They came on and I could immediately tell they were the real deal, a class act. Cock sure rock n roll, perfected stage performance with a tri vocals thing going on that gets everyone excited. Glad for once it's not just me jumping up and down. Thought I heard The Kooks during one of the more melodic mid sections. They're just that bit more sharp, tight together Yup a great band says Mak. I was right and he was right and they were right. Quality with a capital Q says Darren Rogers. I look to my friend and colleague Cilla and she too is getting caught up in The Romance sound.

They play one about their hometown, the town of my birth, and it's the best one yet and they've all been electrifying. Starts of with single vocal then moves into complex two-hander. The clever lyrics standout, the song is well crafted and I want to hear it again in fact I want the CD, the album, everything. At the beginning of the next the need to dance overwhelms me so I dance.

Rat-a-tat vocals, take over my, by now fragile, little mind. Something possibly about crowns, I don't know but I love the up and at 'em machine gun final flourish.
