After careful, strategic, military organisation (something that has always come naturally to Hull bands) Turismo and their entourage were ready for lift off which would launch them bang in the middle of Harewood House in Leeds for the Wireless festival. Sadly, much to the distaste of your humble narrator, the organisation committee had exempted me from driving duties, forcing me to take liquid refreshment at regular intervals. The gods were with us and with all members neatly packed into the Turismo mystery machine, the mission was well in hand.

Now although the next paragraph may not be of interest to anyone but to me, the finer details of the bigger picture play a significant part. In the back of the van, an intense showdown had developed...Who can memorise as many music artists throughout the alphabet without repetition, hesitation or deviation. I am proud to announce the level of music knowledge emanating from the inner sanctum of the steel beast was of a high standard with artists such as Neds Atomic Dustbin to Incubus quoted, this game was eclectically off the map!

It has to be said that with respect, Adam the Dickensian dandy (trombone player) was a natural at the art of retention and still to this day can be heard throughout the streets of Hull reeling off all 26 bands fluidly. After many games and debates, we arrived at our destination and made our way to the nearest estimated base. Not a single member in the whole group had the slightest idea where we were going, so we all rather drifted along in hope of prosperous land. The first area we came across would become our most familiar dwelling, Celebrity Corner (as it was aptly named) providing the Turismo army with a playground of inspirational possibilities.

Now I do not know how we managed it, but it definitely happened, for we had, without preconceived preparation, found ourselves at the back of the main stage, surrounded with a panoramic vista of some of the greatest artists around:

The Who, Flaming Lips, The Zutons, Super Furry Animals, The Eels and last but not least Mr Nice himself, Howard Marks.
