Music News
Interview with Paparazzi Whore (2/2)
By Karl Whiting
(1/2), (2/2).

The album contains eleven amazing tracks in forty minutes. Lyrically they are dark but the bouncy, fast pace and intensity of the sound makes it easy on the ear.

Everybody leads their life in a different way; some are dark so the music makes you really enjoy it whilst not actually knowing what the song is about. So with melodies like this people warm to you like a flock of pigeons to breadcrumbs.

Micci mostly sings and writes about honesty. She has been compared to the likes of Siouxsie Sioux amongst others and she's pleased about this of course, because they're icons!
She wants to make a positive mark within her lyrics. They all want to bring that bass driven rhythm sound into the foreground while aiming to kick apathy into the background - making sure everyone who listens has a good time.
Each member has their own influences and everything mutates into something which never existed. If they were to be inspired by listening to music throughout the day it would range between Muse, The Vapours, Supergrass, Arcade Fire, Massive Attack, Dream Theatre, Porcupine Tree and The Prodigy. I asked them what music genre, if any, would they have liked to invent, which song they wish they could have written and what band they really admire.

Micci mentioned Paul Weller - due to his brain and sheer honesty, whilst Chris on the other hand, was inspired by OMD - because of their sound and their way with words - singing about something so tragic and historic and people love it without knowing the content.
Well the next was disco! Shaun just wanted to have that huge microphone hair and look all sparkly! Faye wishes she'd written Rachmaninov's Concerto Number 3; a wonderful masterpiece.

The band is already planning for their second album which is going to be darker, with an orchestrated backing. Yippie! I can't wait! The blueprint for this is the amazing song and video I'll Be Your Boyfriend. The first album is a kick in the mouth whilst the second is going to be a kick in the head with steel toecaps!
The Whores have invaded Leeds, The Welly Club and on Tuesday 18th July they invade London's Oxford Street. They're playing with three other acts, all of which are signed. These are Betty Curse, From the Wreckage and Trapped and Falling.
Later on in the year they are to play a club called the September Night Club in Morroco, with a band called The Nylons. Lots of press will be there, such as Pink Paper and Bent, so expect wonderful and big things to happen for this great band.
