BBC 1xtra's Mixtape Competition Winners Doc Jnr and Reality?

Hull residents Doc Jnr and Reality? recently took part in the nationwide BBC Radio 1Xtra M1X It Up competition. Their entry got through to the final on 17th September. Listeners were invited to text or email in their vote for their champion, the winner to be announced on the following week's show (24th ) The result? : Results link

The dynamic duo's inimitable style of scratch mixing and hosting and relentless support for the UK Hip Hop scene made them winners with 95% of the vote. Such was the popularity of the pair that the show received a record amount of emails and texts.
The show's host Mista Jam called them both live on air, to congratulate them and offer them the opportunity to return to the show mid-September.
Doc Jnr and Reality? have been headline fixtures on the Hull club scene, both on the big commercial nights and the underground scene for years. Doc Jnr behind the decks and Reality? hosting it up, they've played alongside some of the biggest UK and US names in the business, including Trevor Nelson, Ja Rule, Coolio, SkinnyMan, 112, Fatman Scoop, Cassidy and many more.

Together they have spread their sounds via numerous mixtapes, collaborations, performances and a series of very successful podcasts for cutting edge Hip Hop website Rapnews.co.uk
Away from the clubs, Doc Jnr was a regular feature on Viking Radio for over two years, contributing upfront urban DJ mixes. He is also one half of the massively successful urban brand BombSquad responsible for nationally renowned student parties and urban events (check out the website www.bombsquad.uk.com for more details).

As well as hosting in the clubs and on the airwaves, Reality? affiliated to the UK's Mud Family and an honourable inductee into the Universal Zulu Nation, is a heavily respected UK Hip Hop artist. His hard-hitting outspoken lyrics give a voice to the common man that has won him many fans and both national and international radio airplay.
