The Muddy Water Boys Making Waves Over The Pond.

Local musicians Glenn Williams and Paul Hewson have found success stateside with their latest album, Something Old Something New. The new album was recorded at Paul's own private studio in Withernsea. Paul is a well known drummer based in Hull and was a music teacher until his health forced him to retire. Glenn (a.k.a. The Lazyswede) was promoting bands & artists as a free service for several years, before health problems also forced him to give up his job.

In May 2006 the two of them got together and decided to record Glenn's music just for fun and the album was recorded between May & September the same year. Also appearing on the album is Steve Larkman, oft to be found playing on the fringes of Hull's acoustic scene. Glenn's thirteen year old daughter Helen Williams-Nyman can be heard doing backing vocals on the track Corina Corina as can Mick Morton for Better Think Twice.

One month ago Glenn decided to send a few copies to radio stations he had contact with from his days of promoting bands and very soon they were playing the songs...................... And so the story goes on.

Recently Glenn and Paul heard that a song from the album of original and traditional country/bluegrass music they recorded has been put forward for the Official Independent "True Country" radio charts in America. Meanwhile the songs from Something Old Something New are receiving airplay in America, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and England. The album has recently been reviewed by Robert Partigianoni from Radio Louisiana.

As I sit here listening to the songs I found that this man and his band, might have more natural talent than I have seen since the Beatles... The Muddy Water Boys could have sold these songs on the CD for a great deal of money, but the fact is that they have decided that they did for the pure love of the music. It is their farewell gift back to their fans that supported them through the years...
