Paparazzi Whore performed at The 02 Wireless Festival on 25th June.
Top of the billing was The Who!
Paparazzi Whore lay down an awesome glam punk tinged melodic bass driven
vibe that chucks you up the wall and pins you there.
Frighteningly catchy tunes that just smack you full in the face giving
you only pleasure.
So no matter if you rock it up with the NME crowd or dance the night
away with a superstar DJ, Paparazzi Whore appeals to all markets.
The lyrics are thought provoking, taking everyday life situations in
society to stir up a poetic realism.
Combining this with snappy melodies and memorable choruses, it is all
tied up with superb bright and edgy production by Micci.
|
|
|
Not since the days of such iconic artists as The Jam, The Stranglers
and PIL has a UK band allowed their sound to be dominated by bass lines
so dirty that they would give a monk a wet dream!
When the band recently played The 02 Wireless Festival, Micci's deliverance,
performance and strident vocals were compared to icons such as Siouxsie Sioux,
Debbie Harry and Polly Styrene from X-Ray Spex.
Paparazzi Whore already have a legion of fans in high places.
Steve Lamacq (Radio 1), Claire Sturgess and
John Kennedy from XFM London (the
biggest rock station in the UK) being amongst the first to play their tracks.
|
|
Their music is also heavily rotated on many regional and commercial radio
stations such as Alan Raw's BBC Raw Talent 95.9fm and Viking FM 96.9fm
which has attracted even more fans to their sound.
|
The music is fast, fun and refreshing, as fuzzy glam punk pop vibes
proceed throughout the album with 11 breathtakingly furious and punchy
works that fly from the speakers leaving grimy vapour trails in their wake.
The sheer coolness of tunes like I Don't Think So and the grungy swagger of
I'll Be Your Boyfriend are further reasons for this band to be heard.
You only have to check out their My Space profile and read the comments
to see the buzz and the ever rising fan base.

Music News, Interviews - Interview with Tom from The Cherry Cobb Cartel By Michelle Dee
|
|
Why did you form a band?
Initially I think forming a band just seemed like a good idea, and I suppose it is. But a better reason would be because we wanted to make music we liked. There are bands everywhere now and I'd say about 75% misses the spot with me, so if you're not satisfied by what's currently available, then I say do it yourself!

Music Band News - Screaming Sorrow Band Biog
|
|
Screaming Sorrow (ss) is a 4 piece, acoustic, emo, pop punk, rock, ballad disaster.
The best way to describe us to people who don't really know what that means is .... a fight
between Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World with TBS and The Rocket Summer laughing at them ...
We're quite hard to categorise because of all our other bands (displacements,

It was with anticipation and trepidation that I prepared to interview the Leeds trailblazers.
I had seen them play live at Scarborough last year and had been mightily impressed with both
their sound and stage presence. My trepidation came from their rather imposing
British Rail jackets I'd seen them wearing then. Something about
